ViewSonic is one of the few that have put together a display monitor that is compact but packs in a lot of features. It uses an IPS-based 21.5-inch display panel with a resolution of 1920x1080 with a modest 250cd/m^2 brightness level and an anti-glare coating. It seems that $100 is pretty much the lowest cost one can find for a small monitor and there are lots to choose from. The HP Pavilion 21.5-inch display sets itself apart from other displays because it offers an IPS technology panel. Most low-cost displays tend to use TN panels which while faster have narrow viewing angles and less than stellar color. Brightness is good but not great from its LED edge lighting but it still is sufficient for most users and the ultra slim design and bezel make it so that it can fit into just about any environment. Resolution is typical for monitors of this size at 1920x1080 which allows for full 1080p high definition video. Video connectors include HDMI and VGA. The stand only supports tilt but this is common to most low-cost displays.
